How it can look
- Scammers will pretend to represent your bank or provider.
- You will be told that you qualify for a new SIM card.
- Scammers will give you reasons to want the new SIM card.
- This OTP will allow them to transfer your number to a new SIM card, letting them receive all your messages and calls.

What it is
This is when a scammer who claims to be from your phone provider says that the company will replace your SIM card for free to enable new features for your phone.
What happens next is that the scammer will ask you to text a keyword to a number and share with them a one-time password (OTP) that you will receive when you do so.
If you give them this password, your number will be transferred to a different SIM card. This means the scammer will have full control over it, and will receive all calls and messages, including any one-time passwords (OTPs) for your banking transactions.
Don’t be a victim of the SIM swap scam. Never send any message to a number when asked to do so, and never share your OTPs with anyone.
